Annotation

The article deals with the place of patriotism in the system of psychological categories and concepts. Patriotic implications are considered to be special mental formations being versions of subjective ideas. The author draws attention to their features: complexity of subjective filling, connection between the content and value implications, personal experience, subjectness, isolation from daily events, abstract nature, close connection with public ideas, etc. The author reveals significant polyfunctionality of patriotic implications. Their functions are described in detail, in particular: adaptable, designing, tool, sense-making. It is shown that psychological characteristic of patriotism assumes its personal aspects. Connection between patriotism with such personal properties, as responsibility, diligence, self-feedback, law-obedience, resoluteness, persistence is described.
