A LARGE FAMILY AS A CONSCIOUS LIFE CHOICE: SPECIFIC FEATURES OF SOCIALIZATION OF CHILDREN (RESEARCH OF LARGE FAMILIES IN ROSTOV-ON-DON)

Annotation

In the context of ongoing transformation of modern Russian society, having many children in a family can be of two types – a conscious (safe) choice and deviational. Socialization of children is an inherent part of family activity. The article draws attention to importance of life socialization of children from big families. Positive and negative sides of education in these families come to light. Research of large families from Rostov-on-Don and empirical indicators of other researches reveal interrelation between socialization of children and spiritual and economic potential of parents. The conscious choice to have many children creates positive environment for socialization and nurturing of children. Focus on family values and preserving traditions are the cornerstone of the conscious choice to have many children. The author states high educational potential of this kind of families. Children become better socially adapted and less inclined to deviations.
