TEACHING COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS TO FOREIGN PUPILS BY THE LANGUAGE MATERIAL OF THEIR MAJOR IN TERMS OF MODERN SCIENTIFIC APPROACHES

Annotation

The article covers modern scientific approaches to teaching communicative skills to foreign pupils by means of the language material of their major. The authors dwell on cultural, axiological, existential, hermeneutical, semiotic, synergetic, cognitive, competence-based approaches. The article claims the need of consistent work at general scientific and occupational terminological vocabulary that expresses the basic concepts of language of science. Various interpretations of the concepts “competence” and “competency” are provided in the article, separate competences being considered in detail. The article also touches upon the opportunities offered by the use of methodological resources, sense-making potential of the specified scientific approaches in teaching foreign pupils. The authors specify the relevance of studying specific features of cultural and educational sphere of trainees which allows carrying out effective cross-cultural interpersonal communication.
