TO THE ISSUE OF LANGUAGE SOCIALIZATION IN THE COURSE OF TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Annotation

The authors feel sure that one of the main objectives of teaching foreign languages is successful language socialization in the foreign-language community which enables the individual to adapt quickly to this linguistic setting. The article gives a brief summary of scientific approaches to researches into language socialization. Language socialization is defined as the process of language acquisition by learning this language and inculturation, i.e. adaptation to cultural regulations, values and mentality of the new society. The article gives outline to the main directions of researches into language socialization. The authors describe two basic processes of language socialization: socialization by means of language use and socialization for language use. The authors believe that development of secondary language personality is supposed to become a logical outcome of language socialization and distinguish two stages in evolution of secondary language identity of a future specialist.
