Неволин Никита Сергеевич

Annotation

The article deals with some features of communicative behavior of students from certain regions of Russia and countries of the former Soviet Union in multiethnic educational space of the Russian higher educational institutions. The authors mention characteristic features of cultures which make it possible to refer them to certain types according to the classifications by G. Hofstede, E. Hall, F. Trompenaars, R. Lewis. Analysis of the cultures of Caucasus and Transcaucasia, Central Asia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Trans-Dniester as well as Tatar, Bashkir and Yakut cultures of Russia allowed the authors to determine that they belong to collectivist cultures of high context that are considerably distanced from the power. The culture of the people of Yakutia and Bashkortostan is reactive while all others refer to polyactive cultures. The above mentioned cultural differences can cause misunderstanding of speaker’s intensions, i.e. to make a false impression that the student is not ready
