PEDAGOGICAL CONDITIONS OF DEVELOPING PERSONALITY OF THE JOURNALIST IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSE

Annotation

The article is devoted to pedagogical conditions that provide personal and professional growth of students-journalists in the course of the English language. The author argues that appropriate content and methods of teaching English have a huge potential to become means of personal and professional growth of students. The article claims that changes in the level of personal and professional development of students have become possible thanks to enrichment of the content and choice of motivational texts. As for other effective techniques employed for personal and professional development of intended journalists, the author mentions real-life situations, practical focus and selection of adequate methods that make it possible to model the situations which reflect specific features of journalistic activity, promote independent work of students and give them the chance to express their personalities in problem-based learning.
