PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY OF YOUNG TEACHERS IN A LARGE RUSSIAN CITY (CASE STUDY)

Annotation

The purpose of article is to analyze specific features of professional identity of young teachers of a large Russian city. On the basis of the sociological survey of young teachers of Rostov-on-Don conducted in 2017 the authors draw a conclusion that professional consciousness of young teachers is characterized by great commitment to pedagogical work. Despite low prestige of teacher’s work in society, low indicators of material security, living conditions and quality of rest, young specialists all the same show high level of satisfaction with the profession and display loyalty to school. On the other hand, they claim certain negative aspects of school reforms connected with the increase in number of types of workload. High level of concern about labor risks is also inherent in young teachers.
