DEVELOPING SENSE OF PURPOSE OF TECHNICAL COLLEGE STUDENTS IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSE

Annotation

Commitment of technical college students is one of the major competences formed in the course of studies. Foreign language becomes that means which is most productively used for development of students’ skill to set targets and reach them. Correctly formulated purpose becomes a major success factor in foreign language learning. The article outlines the stages of movement towards the purpose: inspiration with the idea to learn a foreign language; consecutive steps for implementation of the plan in the set time frames; focus on the worthiness of foreign language learning and self-improvement; end of the project. Maintenance of these stages is based on coaching technology which becomes a necessary condition for creating students’ own trajectory of linguistic development based on commitment and sense of purpose.
