THE PROBLEM OF DEVELOPING HUMBLENESS OF MIND В THE RUSSIAN PEDAGOGICAL LITERATURE OF THE LATE XIXTH – EARLY XXTH CENTURIES

Annotation

The article deals with a concept of developing a spiritual personality through moral behaviour and humbleness of mind, which was typical of the Russian pedagogy of the late XIXth and early XXth centuries. This makes “moral education” a pedagogical ideal. Harmonious combination of personal and social endeavours presupposes limitation of freedom of will, which is the key factor of developing humbleness of mind.
