Annotation

The article analyses the process of personal development from the point of view concepts of the humanistic philosophy covering the period from the Antiquity to the modern times. Culture is defined as a condition of development, a stimulus and the spiritual and practical basis of the social development of a personality. The culturological approach is regarded as a fundamental method of human condition and a metaprinciple of education functioning and development. Culture, humanism and humanist thinking are determined by the basic notions characterising methods followed in the culturological approach and promoting development of the modern education.
