PROFESSIONALLY FOCUSED ELECTIVE COURSE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES FOR STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS

Annotation

According to the article, optional courses for students are an obligatory part of the curriculum for preparing modern experts and are aimed at expansion and deepening their knowledge in professional sphere. The article describes the algo­rithm of creating an elective course, including the following issues: defining the basic professional and common cultural linguistic competences, criteria for their estimation, studying requirements of employers and defining the subject content of professional foreign language competence of preparing future experts. The author also dwells on the content, purposes, problems and kinds of elective courses as well as defines approaches, methods and forms of teaching an elective course. The article also includes description of its model.
