EDUCATIONAL POTENTIAL OF THE DISCIPLINE “FOREIGN LANGUAGE” IN A TECHNICAL COLLEGE

Annotation

The article deals with substantiation and realization of educational potential of the discipline “Foreign language” in a technical college. The author singles out and defines educational (nurturing) component in the content of professional competences of an engineer, makes the conclusion that the given problem is at the stage of its solution. As for the sources of nurturing educational potential of the discipline, the author mentions didactically significant features of the studied language, its cognitive and communicative functions, social and intercultural orientation, as well as didactic material, techniques and methods of teaching foreign languages.
