DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS’ EDUCATIONAL MOTIVATION WHILE STUDYING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Annotation

The article provides the results of theoretical and empirical researches into motivational sphere of students. Concrete ways and means to form and develop steady positive motivation to studying a foreign language are offered in the article. The author believes that well-balanced content of teaching materials and correct ways of presenting it, that correlate with cognitive needs and interests of students, is the basic factor for developing educational motivation and strengthening all its components. As for the components, they include the following: needs, aspirations, interests, emotions, motives which, in turn, promote deepening and expansion of students’ cognitive activity sphere and increase learning efficiency in communicating in a foreign language.
