Annotation

The article is devoted to some issues of scientific staff preparation in terms of postgraduate study. The authors consider the problems that first year post-graduate students face during research work. The article makes an attempt to find answers to questions about the purposes, motives, life plans of post-graduate students. The data received as a result of interrogation of post-graduate students and their scientific supervisors are referred to. The authors distinguish some groups of post-graduate students according to the received results. The article also deals with the issue of interaction between post-graduate students and their supervisors. Many post-graduate students cannot adapt to uncontrollable independent scientific work. Post-graduate students note high interest of their scientific supervisors, but emphasize their low wages. Post-graduate students concentrate not only on scientific work, but have to have other jobs to support their families. Much attention in the article is
