Annotation

The article reveals reasons that make relevant questions of formation of civic consciousness and patriotism. The author proves the need to study the role of patriotism in the life of society and identify ways for its development. The author shows that patriotism has to express interests of the state and citizens of Russia, to become the nation-wide idea. The article includes and compares various definitions of patriotism. The author states the need to reconsider the national policy and problems of patriotic education as well as the need to define the place of patriotism in categorical and conceptual system of psychological knowledge. In the article, questions of patriotism are associated with informative, emotional, volitional and behavioral spheres of the subject. The author mentions characteristics of patriotic implications and their dependence on personal experience and subjectivity of a personality.
