Annotation

The article provides results of research into the real condition of national system of middle-ranking specialists’ preparation. The given research made it possible to single out certain groups of problems of development of the system, demanding urgent solutions. Generalization of the information on the problems under study has allowed the author to estimate the problem field and offer directions of modernization of the system of secondary professional education.
